"Just a threat of a boycott has got so many Ghar Wapasi to Sanatan": Having suffered years of flops-mediocre releases Shah Rukh Khan hoping big comeback to the silver screen in 2023 with his films Pathaan, visits Vaishno Devi temple, Boycott Pathan trends

Shah Rukh Khan goes to Vaishno Devi temple ahead of Pathaan release

On the intervening night of December 11 and December 12, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was spotted at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Katara. Notably, SRK had visited Mecca to perform Umrah earlier this month.

SRK is hoping to make a big comeback to the silver screen in 2023 with his films Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki set for a release. Having suffered years of flops and mediocre releases, 2023 is supposed to be the year of the comeback for SRK.

SRK’s videos and photographs from Vaishno Devi Temple went viral on social media after his visit. Shahrukh’s face was not clearly visible as he was wearing a black hooded jacket but there was an army of security guards surrounding him as he made his way to the temple.

SRK has recently completed Saudi Arabia scheduled for Dhunki. Thanking the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia, he wrote, “spectacular locations, amazing arrangements, and the warm hospitality.”  “A very big Shukran (Thank you) to #SaudiArabiaMinistryOfCulture, the team, and all who made this shooting schedule of #Dunki so smooth,” the Bollywood star wrote on his Instagram post.

The first song of Pathaan is also scheduled for release soon. Deepika Padukone is in the lead opposite SRK in the film. The Bollywood actor unveiled the first look of the song on Sunday, December 11.

Superstar Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan have fallen victim to the ongoing boycott trend by the major Indian population. Despite positive reviews, the film failed to make a mark at the box office. Amidst this, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan seemingly falls victim to the boycott trend.

The actor is returning to the silver screen with Siddharth Anand’s action film which is slated to release next year. However, proud Indians have already begun calling for a boycott of the film. An old video of King Khan allegedly talking about “growing intolerance” has also surfaced on social media.

In the viral video, Shah Rukh Khan was asked whether there’s growing intolerance in the country, he replied, “I mean just for the symbolic gesture, yes, if I have to. But there is intolerance. There’s extreme intolerance. I think there’s growing intolerance.” It is also worth pointing out that the authenticity of the video is yet to be ascertained since the video in question could most likely be edited out or taken out of context.

Kamaal R Khan aka KRK is a self-proclaimed critic who never shies away from voicing his opinions and taking digs at Bollywood movies or trolling the actors. A few hours back, he took to his Twitter handle and lashed out at Pathaan’s first song ‘Besharam Rang’. Dress-shaming Deepika Padukone, he claimed Shah Rukh Khan has been showing off his ‘fake plastic abs’.

KRK’s tweet can be read as, “I simply can’t understand, why #DeepikaPadukone is wearing bikini in the Song #BeshramRang While she is looking so bad in bikini. I would love this song if Deepika is wearing salwar kameez or any other full dress. And SRK is not showing fake plastic 6 packs.”

Sporting a golden monokini, Deepika Padukone is looking cheap copy of herself and doing vulgar steps like dance bar girls in the freshly launched song ‘Besharam Rang’.

Sadhu calls for boycott of SRK’s film ‘Pathan’, gets death threat

Gandhidham: Kutch Sadhu Samaj president on Friday claimed to have received a death threat for appealing to ‘sanatanis’ to boycott Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film ‘Pathan’.

Sadhu Devnath, the guru brother of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will soon file a criminal complaint in the Bachau police station against the SRK fan who threatened him on social media.

Speaking to local media, Sadhu Devnath stated: “One Saleem Ali (SRK fan) has posted a beheaded poster of mine on Twitter. He is from Shah Rukh Khan’s PR team, this is in reaction to my Thursday’s tweet in which I had appealed to Sanatanis to boycott Shah Rukh’s new movie ‘Pathan’ like Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.”

The sadhu said he wants police to expose the syndicate or gang behind this threat and not simply investigate against Saleem.

“I am not against any movie, but against actors who flourish on Indian fan followers and abuse the nation,” he said, adding that he is also not against any caste, creed or community, but will not tolerate those who speak against the nation and its people.

SRK visit to Mecca

On December 2, it was reported that SRK performed Umrah at Mecca after wrapping up the shooting schedule of Dunki. Saudi Arabia-based journalist Said Hafiz took to Twitter to share images of the Bollywood actor praying at Mecca. “Bollywood Actor Shah Rukh Khan @iamsrk performed Umrah in #Mecca today. May Allah SWT accept his Umrah, Ameen”, he tweeted.

Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, that can be undertaken at any time of the year as compared to Hajj. In accordance with the Shariah (Law of Islam), for both pilgrimages, a Muslim must first assume a state of purification achieved by completing cleansing rituals, wearing the prescribed attire, and abstaining from certain actions. Umrah is considered a pilgrimage “lesser than” Hajj and is completed in a few hours, compared to Hajj, which may take a few days.

SRK is often seen following rituals of both Islam and Hinduism. Notably, his wife, Gauri, is a Hindu. Every year, SRK posts pictures of the idol of Bhagwan Ganesha that his family brings home for Ganesh Chaturthi.
