Another horrific incident of grooming jihad has come to light from Uttar Pradesh, where a married Muslim man married a Hindu woman, and later killed her. The murder took place in the Kashiram Colony of Para area of Lucknow late in the evening on Thursday 20th January 2022. Mohammad Yasin, a supplier of ayurvedic medicine allegedly killed his second wife Zara Khan aka Sofia aged 26, by suffocating her with a pillow. Both Zara Khan and Mohammad Yasin are from Bahraich. The incident happened in their house in the Old Kashiram Colony area.

TS Tirumurti emphasized how several UN member States had tried to put labels on acts of terrorism, based on political and religious motivations
On Tuesday (January 18), the Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, TS Tirumurti, called for the recognition of hatred and bias against religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sikhism. On January 20, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu of the Khalistani terrorist organization Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) released a video urging “Kashmiri Freedom Fighters” to ‘leave valley – reach Delhi’ to sabotage Republic Day. SFJ’s Pannu has called the anti-India separatists and terrorists “freedom fighters” in the video and the statement was on the line of Pakistan’s ISI’s call of ‘now or never’ for Khalistan.

Earlier this month I spent a five days in South Gujarat, specifically Surat and Bharuch where I got to speak to a young woman Pooja (name changed), who had been the victim of grooming jihad herself when she was a minor. She put her faith in me and narrated her ordeal in hopes that her story will perhaps help other victims to get courage that there is still hope.

M Lavanya, a student of standard 12th in Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Thirukattupali in Thanjavur, Tamilnadu, killed herself after she was allegedly tortured by her school authorities for refusing to convert to Christianity. Reportedly, the school had said that she must convert to Christianity if she wishes to continue her studies in the school.
