"Immoral cannot be made moral through the use of secret law": Shethepeople, self-styled “feminist website presented Maulana Baba Jamdar as Hindu Tantrik, to cover news about a woman forced “to bathe in public as a ritual to help her conceive male child”

The heading clearly and slyly suggests that the perpetrator was a Hindu by introducing him as a Tantrik. The audience of such websites is usually young people who often have a short span of attention

Maulana accused of forcing woman to bath naked publicly; Shethepeople’s deceptive article dubs him Tantrik - Representational image

In an immoral which has become a norm nowadays and is a common practice to attempt to pass off crimes committed by Muslims to Hindus, the self-styled “feminist website”, Shethepeople, presented a Muslim cleric as a Hindu Tantrik. In an article dated August 25, Shethepeople covered the news about a woman being forced “to bathe in public in Pune for an alleged ritual that would help her conceive a male child.”

Reports say the woman’s husband and in-laws took her to the accused who performed certain rituals on her. He said, “that the only way to do so was for the woman to take a bath under a waterfall in Raigad without clothes in front of her husband, in-laws and himself.”

The family traveled to Raigad and completed the ritual, after which the victim felt it was not right. She filed the complaint at the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station, and her four people, including her family members and the con man, were booked under “the anti-superstition act, section 478 and of witchcraft act, fraud, domestic violence, and human sacrifice.”

It must be highlighted that the accused, who had forced the woman to take bath without clothes in front of him and the woman’s family, has been identified as Maulana Baba Jamdar. It is evident from the name as well as the title “Maulana” that the accused is a Muslim. However, in a malicious attempt to peddle their anti-Hindu agenda, Shethepeople reported this piece of news with the misleading heading of “Tantrik Forced Woman To Bath In Public For Child Bearing”.

The heading clearly and slyly suggests that the perpetrator was a Hindu by introducing him as a Tantrik. The audience of such websites is usually young people who often have a short span of attention. In most cases, they form their opinions only by glancing at the headlines, without even reading the entire article. Hence, projecting the occult practitioner who committed this crime as a Hindu came naturally to the anti-Hindu website.

However, vigilant netizens were quick to point out the sinister plan of Shethepeople and exposed how they tried to saffronize the crime committed by a Maulana. After being caught red-handed while falsely framing the Hindus, the website quietly tweaked the headline and the article.

This is not the first time Shethepeople used the word “Tantrik” for Muslim perpetrators. Back in 2020, the website had carried a similar story using the word “Tantrik” for one Nasir Baba in their headline.

Tantrik

Shethepeople is not the only media platform switching the identity of a Muslim accused with a Hindu. A couple of days ago, India Today published an article on the Dumka Love Jihad and the murder case of Ankita. While reporting on the sensitive subject, India Today changed the name of the murder accused Shahrukh Hussain to Abhishek, thereby giving an Islamist love jihadi, a Hindu identity. Again, after massive social media outrage, the media house was compelled to correct its article.

These incidents are not ignorant mistakes by so-called journalists producing content for these liberal sites. They are very well-planned and deliberate plotting against the Hindus. If they get caught, they simply retract their statements or surreptitiously change the title/content. If they are lucky and no one takes notice of their vicious plans, they continue their anti-Hindu agenda.
