"Fear silences voices; courage amplifies them": Eyewitness accounts from Nuh depict shocking violence, including alleged gangrapes and murders, many Hindus missing, with growing demands for a CBI/NIA investigation to bring justice amid chilling silence

Women’s torn clothes recovered from hills surrounding the Nalhar Shiva Temple in Nuh, women from nearby households reported missing: Reports

In an unfolding nightmare of sheer terror, locals in Nuh, Haryana, have stumbled upon a haunting and gruesome discovery: torn clothes of women scattered around the hills that encircle the Nalhar Shiva Temple. The stark and chilling find was not the end of the terrifying ordeal that has convulsed this community; women from nearby households have gone missing in a chilling pattern that points to a wave of violence, spurred on by an Islamist attack on Hindu devotees.

The revelations began with a cache of women's torn garments, found scattered across the hills adjacent to the Nalhar Shiva Temple, a place of profound religious significance. The horrific discovery was not isolated; women from neighboring homes are absent, vanished without a trace. This news, reported by 'Leading Bharat TV,' leaves locals and onlookers aghast and in shock.

The haunting image of women's torn clothes littering the area forms a haunting scene, reflecting the brutal wave of violence unleashed against Hindu worshippers, many of whom narrowly escaped the clutches of death during a merciless onslaught.

Eyewitness explains how Muslim mobs consisting of 10-12 year children, girls and women pelted stones on them. Trucks were used to block roads at multiple places. The Muslim mob didn't even spare small Hindu children and Hindu women, and attacked them too.

The missing women, the torn clothes, the brutal violence – it all started on July 31 when violence overtook Nuh and spilled over into other parts of Haryana, including Gurugram.

Sarpanch Association President Rafiq confirms Jihadi violence against Hindus at Nuh

A Muslim sarpanch, who serves as a local village head, and an eyewitness have come forward with information that paints a terrifying picture of calculated and orchestrated violence. Their statements offer insight into how the rioters, who wreaked havoc through violence and vandalism, came from neighboring Rajasthan and other areas, amplifying concerns over the security and integrity of the region.

Rafiq, the distinguished President of the Sarpanch Association of Nuh, shared his insights with India Today, expressing his distress and anger over the incident. He stated, "There were 5-6-7 boys from my village alone (who participated in the riots)." Rafiq's words echo the horror reported by other witnesses, affirming that the Islamists arrived in droves in the Nuh region with the sinister intent of carrying out the riots.

What makes this all the more infuriating is Rafiq's admission that these rioters were young, aged between 18 and 25, and that they arrived with the clear aim of attacking, looting, and then fleeing the scene. According to him, "Two-three of them are involved in looting and five to seven in rioting." This statement sheds light on the premeditated nature of the violence, further fueling public outrage.

The situation was elaborated upon by a local resident of Nuh named Irfan, who spoke with India Today as well. He described a scene of terror and chaos, recounting how "7-8 pickup vans came from Rajasthan and some people came in from Rajasthan and Ferozepur Jhirkha (Haryana)." He added, "When they came, the fighting erupted. They (Islamist mob) crashed their vehicle into the yatra at the T-point. It was only that the fighting started." These chilling details paint a vivid picture of what transpired, adding to the growing anger towards those responsible.

While the involvement of Islamists in the Nuh violence has been confirmed, the scale of the violence leads to a haunting question: Could such large-scale violence have been orchestrated solely by a few rioters from Rajasthan and Ferozepur Jhirkha without the involvement of local Muslims? This doubt gnaws at the conscience of those seeking justice, and suspicion lurks that Rafiq and Imran might be attempting to shield locals who may have participated in the rioting.

Even if their statements were made with the intention of protecting local Muslims, they stand as damning confirmation that Muslims did indeed unleash violence on Hindus. This fact flies in the face of attempts by individuals like Zubair, who have been trying to minimize or downplay the role of Muslims in the Nuh violence.

This entire incident stirs a mix of emotions, primarily anger and frustration, at the apparent ease with which such a heinous act was carried out. The glaring reality that external forces were able to infiltrate a peaceful region, instigate violence, and then retreat, leaves many feeling vulnerable and betrayed. The possibility of local involvement deepens the wound.

The testimonies of Rafiq and Irfan not only demand urgent attention but also immediate action to ensure that justice is served. It is an incident that shakes the very foundation of communal harmony and underscores the need for increased vigilance, robust law enforcement, and an unflinching commitment to uphold the rule of law. If we are to maintain peace and protect the sanctity of our communities, the truth must be uncovered, and those responsible must be held accountable. Anything less would be a travesty, a mockery of justice, and an affront to every citizen's right to live in safety and dignity.

Eyewitness Accounts and Demands for Investigation

In the wake of the violence that has shaken Nuh, eyewitness testimonies have emerged that paint a horrifying picture of the extent of the atrocities committed. Devotees participating in the yatra and local Hindus of Nuh recount harrowing incidents of women and girls being dragged into fields, stripped, and likely gangraped.

The terror that unfolded was not limited to adults. Disturbingly, evidence has surfaced of torn clothes belonging to little girls, further corroborating the claims of sexual violence. One person has even alleged that a 'woman and her child were burnt alive', amplifying the horror.

These reports have been sourced by an alternative media outlet, whose journalists have worked to unearth the hidden tragedy behind the headlines.

In a concerning twist, the media's attempts to reach out to the local authorities for comments on these deeply disturbing reports have been met with indifference and evasion. When media personnel tried to contact @police_haryana, SHO Nuh, and others, they either received no response or were disconnected the moment the topic of #NuhViolence was mentioned.

This lack of communication has not only fueled skepticism and distrust but also cast doubt on the willingness of local authorities to investigate the allegations with the seriousness they deserve.

Given the severity of the allegations and the history of ineffectiveness on the part of the local police in protecting ordinary citizens in the Nuh region, calls are now growing for the case to be handed over to a higher authority. Influential figures and citizens alike are urging @cmohry and @HMOIndia to allow agencies like CBI/NIA to take over the investigation.

The reason for this demand is clear. Powerful Congress MLAs in the region, like Mamman Khan, have been accused of playing a key role in instigating this current round of violence. The influence and reach of such politicians may be hindering a transparent and unbiased investigation.

A subsequent report by Hindustan 9 UP provides even more agonizing details, with locals recounting stories of their daughters and sisters being subjected to unthinkable atrocities. A man's voice, laden with anguish, speaks to the reporter, "Our daughters and sisters were raped, their sarees were pulled. An attempt is being made by some in the media to shield the Islamists but if they come down our village, they will realize the gravity of the issue and the atrocities faced by us."

Calls for investigation ring out, with demands for a drone survey to unveil the premeditated nature of the attack. Local residents cry out for justice, insisting that an aerial survey would expose those who planned and executed the assault. "Stones don’t drop from the skies on their own, they were brought from the hills and pelted at Hindus. Their (Muslims) houses should be searched and a drone survey should be done like it was after the Delhi riots, which will reveal how they had been collecting stones to attack the Hindus," says a local voice, full of despair and determination.

Earlier in the week, a report from Jagran exposed a cruel dimension to the violence: segregation by religion before an unleashing of unrestrained brutality. A mob of more than fifty rioters stormed a hospital in Nuh, separating Hindu patients and medical staff from their Muslim counterparts. The Hindus were mercilessly beaten; even a doctor’s three-year-old daughter was not spared from the assault. Pregnant women, health workers, and others were caught up in a wave of violence that left no room for mercy or humanity.

The violence had its root on Monday (July 31) during the 'Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra' organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. This sparked a clash that resulted in five deaths, including two personnel from the Haryana home guard. A frenzy of violence engulfed the region, with vehicles set ablaze, stones hurled, and pilgrims attacked by an Islamist mob. In a statement by Bajrang Dal, it was revealed that hundreds of vehicles were damaged or reduced to ashes.

Chilling Testimonies: The Horror Continues

The nightmare did not end there. Testimonies from victims reveal the extent of the barbarity inflicted upon the Hindus in Nuh by their Islamist assailants. Abhishek Rajput, a Hindu devotee, was shot at, his throat slit, and his head crushed with a stone. Four other non-Muslims were likewise hacked to death by the mob.

The area of Mewat, renowned for its crime-ridden reputation, includes Nuh in Haryana and other regions in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. According to the 2011 census, the region has a significant Muslim majority, constituting 77% of the total population. Crimes such as forced conversion, cow smuggling, abduction, drugs, and murder are rampant, creating a breeding ground for tensions.

Arrests and Investigations: A Community Seeks Justice

A total of 141 individuals have been arrested, and 55 FIRs have been registered in connection with the violence. The death toll has reached six, including two police home guards, with 88 others injured. Gurugram Police also filed 27 FIRs and arrested 38 accused in related incidents.

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has spoken out, alleging a more extensive conspiracy behind the violence and promising that the culprits will not be spared. "The situation is under control," Vij assures, but for the people of Nuh, the scars of the brutality and the haunting images of torn clothes and missing women will linger for a long time.

In the hills surrounding Nuh, in the shadow of the Nalhar Shiva Temple, something unthinkable has happened. A community has been torn apart, women are missing, and families are in agony. The shock, anger, and horror will not easily fade; it is now etched into the collective memory of a place that once sought solace in faith but found only violence.

The situation in Nuh draws uncomfortable parallels with the post-poll violence in West Bengal, where fear of retribution and 'social shame' have deterred victims from coming forward. This fear creates a culture of silence that, if left unaddressed, only serves to embolden the perpetrators.

In West Bengal, countless stories of terror were suppressed, with victims afraid to speak out. Similar hesitancy is now threatening to stifle the voices of those who suffered in Nuh. It's a cycle of fear and silence that must be broken if justice is to be served.

The handling of the #MewatTerrorAttack raises broader questions about the current state of policing in India. Accusations abound that the police have become accustomed to downplaying Islamist violence, focusing on the short-term goal of 'restoring law and order' at the expense of a just and comprehensive investigation.

Such an approach not only erodes public trust in law enforcement but also risks plunging the nation into total chaos and anarchy. When the guardians of law and order appear complicit or indifferent, the very fabric of society begins to unravel.
