Siyaram Baba: History is witness that Indian sages have surprised the whole world with the power of yoga and meditation.

Along with this, he has surprised everyone by keeping restraint on the senses through hard meditation and by making the body weather-friendly. This is the reason why India is at the top in terms of yoga and spirituality. At the same time, people keep coming to India from every corner of the world to know and learn the nuances of yoga.

In this sequence, we are going to tell you about such a saint of Madhya Pradesh, to get a glimpse of whom devotees come not only from the country but also from abroad. We are going to talk about Siyaram Baba. Let us know some interesting and surprising things about Siyaram Baba.

The saint we are telling you about is known by the name of Siyaram Baba. He is Saint Shri of Bhatyan Ashram situated on the banks of Narmada in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh. Baba's age is said to be 109 years. However, some tell their age as 80, while some say 130. On the other hand, if  media reports  are to be believed, then their age can be around 109.

Baba is an ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman and you will find him continuously reciting Ram Charitmanas. It is believed that Siyaram Baba was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra and has also studied till 7-8th class.

On the other hand, after coming in contact with a saint, he got the idea of disinterest and he left his home and went to the Himalayas to do penance. However, his later life is quite mysterious and hardly anyone has information about it.

Takes only 10 rupees in donation

One special thing about Siyaram Baba (Saint Siyaram Baba) is that he takes only 10 rupees in charity . If someone donates more than Rs 10 to him, he returns the rest of the money. It is said that once some people from Argentina and Austria went to Baba's ashram to have darshan and they donated 500 rupees to Baba, but Baba took 10 rupees and returned the remaining money to them.

Apart from this, Siyaram Baba also gives his participation in social welfare, if media reports are to be believed, Baba had donated Rs 2 crore 57 lakhs for the repair of Narmada Ghat and for making a shed to avoid rain. This money was given to him as compensation for the sinking of the ashram. At the same time, Siyaram Baba also donated 5 lakh rupees for the construction of the peak of an under-construction temple.

Spend all the seasons in one 'Langot'

The story behind Baba's name is also interesting. It is said that Baba had kept silence for 12 years  . Whereas, when he opened his mouth after 12 years, the first word that came out of his mouth was 'Siyaram'. Because of this the people of the village named him Siyaram and now Baba is known by the name of Siyaram Baba.

Apart from this, he also did Khadeshwar penance for 10 years . This is a difficult austerity, in which the ascetic has to do all the work of the day while standing, right from sleeping. All this was possible only because of Baba's yoga practice. It is said that during Baba's Khadeshwar penance, there was a flood in the Narmada river and the water came up to Baba's navel, but Baba remained in his place.
