Shocking to normal humans: Desensitized Islamist persecution of Bangladesh’s long-suffering Hindus continues as a young married Hindu woman Nupur Saha gang-raped and murdered to avenge Nupur Sharma’s “blasphemy”, was 6-month pregnant

Shocking gang rape and murder of a young married Hindu woman has been alleged in Bangladesh recently. Shocking to normal humans, but not to those desensitized to Islamist persecution of Bangladesh’s long-suffering Hindus and other minorities.

NGO worker, Nupur Saha’s (25) body was found in a jute field in Chowdhurykanda Sadardi village of Faridpur district’s Bhanga Upazila. She was the wife of Kartik Roy, had a two-year-old child, and was six months pregnant.

Nupur was the field worker for a microfinance NGO called Ad-Din. She had gone out to collect a micro-loan installment on Tuesday (7 June) morning but never returned. On Wednesday afternoon, locals found the half-naked body of the woman inside the jute field of a local man named Mamun Sheikh and informed the police. Upon receiving the news, police, and members of CID’s crime scene unit from Faridpur reached the spot.

Police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital for autopsy. They are silent for now on how the victim died.

Seeing the corpse, it is thought that the unfortunate woman may have been killed after being raped and left in the jute field by the beasts. The Hindu community in Bangladesh is demanding exemplary punishment through the speedy trial of those involved in the rape and brutal murder of Nupur Saha, a mother of one child and 6 months pregnant.

While targeting of Hindus by Islamist land-grabbers and hate-mongers is commonplace in Bangladesh, this especially brutal crime against a pregnant mother has made Hindus wonder if Nupur Saha was targeted as she shared the same first name as Nupur Sharma, the former BJP spokesperson who has become an object of hate for the entire Muslim world as she allegedly committed blasphemy against Islam’s Prophet.

Multiple attacks have been reported on Hindus across Bangladesh in recent days as Islamists there too are baying for Nupur Sharma’s blood. Just a few days before the alleged brutal gang rape and murder of Nupur Saha, two temple murtis in the same Faridpur district were vandalized and the temple set on fire by Islamic extremists, Hindu activists reported.

When Bangladeshi Hindus suffered during the 2021 Durga Puja pogrom over alleged blasphemy (which later turned out to be faked by Islamists themselves), Sheikh Hasina’s govt warned Bharat to prevent any ‘retaliatory attack’ against Muslims in Bharat as that would have a snowball effect on Bangladesh (the hostage population theory). But when Bharat is seeing violence over alleged blasphemy (again manufactured by Islamists like Md. Zubair), the same Sheikh Hasina govt. is unable to control retaliatory violence against her peace-loving Hindu population? Should Bharat now threaten Hasina in the same coin?
