Panaji: In a shocking incident, a Russian woman was allegedly raped by two Nepali nationals at a hotel in Goa. The two accused were working as room boys at the hotel. Police have now arrested the two men. The accused hail from Bardhiya in Nepal.

Police on Friday said the alleged crime took place at a hotel in Calangute North Goa. 37-year-old Russian national arrived in Goa on Thursday.

The woman was staying with two other people at the hotel. The Russian woman returned to her hotel room on Thursday evening after visiting several tourist places in the city, according to a report in Mid Day.

"After returning to hotel, the woman consumed alcohol and went to her room to sleep. She was not accompanied by the two other roommates at that time," the report quoted Nidhin Valsan, Superintendent of Police (SP) North Goa.

According to police, one of the accused entered the woman's room on the pretext of cleaning and raped the victim. Police said the woman did not realise that she was sexually assaulted as she was under the influence of alcohol.

"Sometime later, the second room boy entered the room and when he was about to rape her, she raised an alarm," said SP Valsan. The two accused have been identified as Sakhil Ansari (23) and Sayumdhin Ansari (23). Police sad they have filed a case and a probe is underway.
